Bakla

This is a sort of vegetable, which is a sign of spring in Istanbul. I have found the word "Saubohne" in German for this vegetable, it sounds not very nice somehow. :-) One would have completely another chain of associations for the word "Saubohne" than for "bakla", if even they mean the same...
The second picture could be titled as "nature morte in Istanbul", because the nature is here really killed:-)
The third picture has a seagull, seamew ('Möve' in German) 'martı' on it. The most beautiful thing I have seen today, so therefore comes she here.

Über Österreich1, On Austria1

Who is Strache? Strache is extrem right wing politician in Austria. Man darf endlich öffentlich schimpfen. Also ÖVP und FPÖ arbeiten wirklich super gemeinsam.

Link for Postmodern Thought

There is a link for postmodern thought; http://carbon.cudenver.edu/~mryder/itc_data/postmodern.html
Unfortunately Heidegger is also there. Heidegger was not postmodern in my view. Heidegger is typical for someone with a longing for premodernity... ("Vormoderne" in German) A longing for the time before modernity. Or a longing for timelessness...This is also a part of German Romanticism. But postmodern is something different in my view. First of all there is an affirmation of modernity in postmodern thought and it is the enlightenment of enlightenment.(like Rorty would say) It is in the tradition of Critical Theory, which shows the shape and the limit of Western Reason.

Topkapı Surlari

I have looked for something in Istanbul and found it in Australia. I like internet. I was looking for pictures from the Byzantine ruins between Edirnekapi and Topkapi. Unfortunately nobody has interest for them. I can´t understand this. They are beautiful but forgotten. Yesterday I have seen a poor man here trying to sell vegetables, in the middle of nowhere. It was funny and absurd. I don´t have a camera, but it would be an interesting picture. Traffic, a man probably from Anatolia, ruins, nice vegetables and nobody... It was funny, because it was not the right place to sell something; there was nobody...
This is a link from these Byzantine ruines. Thanks to this guy!

Apple and Sin

Don´t buy an apple computer, if you have old devices. Because u can´t find drivers. There are things in life, that u can easily get in 2 seconds in internet, for example, a driver for an old device. I have spent a day and couldn t find, what I am looking for yesterday; a driver for hp 5200c scanner. And Apple wan´t pay me these lost hours. There are things and actions which u can get more easily in windows, like drivers. Apple looks only better, that´s all. Vanity can be a sin...:-)

"Psychologists in the 19th century came to believe, as did their patients, that ordinary people who
were involuntarily expressive were often insane people; this is another form of the fear of spontaneous feeling as abnormal"

Strache in Wien

Strache is a politician in Vienna from FPÖ, this is an extrem right wing party in Austria. And he has obviously enough money to bring out each week a new poster with himself and let them paste everywhere in the city. I really ask myself; anyone who has enough money can make politics actually, why we are bothering ourselves with democracy? If democracy means to buy votes, then the EU countries are sometimes not better than other countries... Only the system is more complicated, but it is the same in the end. Strache uses this time an image, that I have also used in "FEMINIST ADDITIVES", (Lautsprecher Verlag, Stuttgart). In Combination with his intellectual capacity the image has got completly another meaning. It is interesting anyway.

Taxi driver

Yesterday when we were caught up in traffic jam, the taxi driver, half insane because of never ending jam of Istanbul, has begun to talk...
"Abla, do you see this jam? Do you see? Do you know why there are so many cars? They don´t take the other way, because it will cost them a little bit more, but in this way you lose more money, more time and you get stressed."
"Yes, stress. This is the most important factor to me. You lose your nerves..." I didn´t understand him anyway, when he had described the other way. I was absent, when he talked suddenly.
Then he began again: "This country must be divided. This country must be divided."
What has this utterance to do with the traffic jam? But there is nothing to understand. This is his primary process of free associations, I think. We all have our circulating curses, I think... Or our circulating nodes...
"Why do you think so? What do you mean by this? I am not for separation. Didn´t you see, what happened to Yugoslavia or now in Irak? What they have done in Irak? Let them fighting each other in a stupid way..."
"Yes, I know of course. But this is not my point. I want them have one winter without Istanbul, without Turkey, they wouldn´t survive. They can´t do anything. They have nothing...They behave like artists... They know this, they just behave like artists..."
I don´t know what he means exactly. I wonder, if he knows it by himself. He is from eastern part of Turkey, you hear it, in his accent.
He was in Germany, he was in England. He didn´t like these countries... Always bad weather, no social life. He couldn´t stand it up...
"My mother is retiree from Germany, I know what it seems there...Nowhere is so much freedom as in Turkey."
I smile "Yes, because there is no functioning authority. But this is not freedom, this is not democracy."
"There is also not democracy in these countries." (he means Germany and England)
"What do you mean by this? Why?"
"They are just working hard. The only good thing is maybe they pay their taxes."
Again a nonsense talk, which I can´t understand. I just want to understand how he thinks... But I couldn´t...
He began again, as we are still in the jam...
"Yesterday there were two chichi women in my car, the one was speaking on mobile phone. She said on the phone; "O.k. honey your problem will be solved, but he wants diamonds." Can you imagine that everything works like this? And this man is a politician,..........."
"Yes I can imagine. Isnt he a famous mafia man anyway?"

The lost unity

Cyberspace is the only place, where my thoughts, my body and the images in my mind are together...
je, moi and I all together...:-)
Übrigens es regnet in Istanbul.

Internet beni deli ediyor. Elime Maastricht in güzel bir resmi gecti tesadüfen, Viyana hakkinda birseyler ararken, bende onu sayfama koymadan edemiyorum. Maas ordaki nehrin ismi. Biz Maastricht kelimesini hep ekonomik kriterler kelimeleriyle tamamliyoruz sanirim medya yüzünden, halbuki bu antlasmanin disinda ilginc ve güzel bir yer Maastricht.

Aus den Medien

Europas beste Zeitungsmacher tagen in Wien
---> http://www.newsroom.at/news/display/index.cfm?id=329959

Green in Istanbul

the weather is nice here, but nobody appreciates it.It is not cold here and nobody appreciates it. It could be green here by the time, the sun is there but there is not even grass here... the only green like thing i could find was a trunk in a shopping mall, a little bit too big... a liitle bit ugly and artificial. i am asking myself, why do you need a shopping center, if you have nice weather all the time. Isn´t it the monkey mentality of developing countries? to imitate without thinking...
