Sennett and Riesman

Can we translate one way communication (book) into multimedia communication? Maybe we can animate a book with hypertexts, images and sounds... To animate an old book is especially interesting to me... It is like giving life to the past...
Especially two books I have read in the last couple of months; "The Fall of Public Man" (R. Sennett,1977) and David Riesmann´s "The Lonely Crowd" (1950) have something in common. I can´t describe it thoroughly, but they had similar ways of writing. There are too many references in the books, which are not theoretical references, so you have to find these references by yourself or you believe to author without questioning him.Or you need animation for these books... They are not new or actual books, but still interesting in my view. Especially "The Lonely Crowd" from

David Riesman

is very interesting. The book is so old, but you can detect all the problems with the mass media at the beginning...
Google has also found an interesting link to me... A page of a psychiatrist, who has written about media, about his observations in the hospitals referring to David Riesman
