Today I have brought myself ( I had to overcome my reluctance to do it) to visit so called 'Istanbul Biennale', but its name should change to Koç Biennale in my view.:-) As we live all in the country of kocistan, maybe the capital of the country known as turkey should also have another name like istanbul biennale... anyway... i give up today to think cynically, the only way in my view that reality can be presented. ( not represent but present) Maybe it was a mistake to think that art has something to do with politics... Yes, maybe it was only my laziness that i didn t engage myself directly in the politics and tried to criticize outside of the political world. Yes, maybe this was a mistake. I don t know.
Today I have seen two works which were metaphysical in my view. The work of Paul Chan and Ken Lum. They were really more than political criticism in my view. Many artists exhibit cynicall aggression about the political situation but these 2 works had sth sublime... I am cynical aggressive all of the time, but to think that there are other things in life than this miserable, disgusting human existence, other things in life than the disgusting real life... maybe i just get older... feel myself like a philosophizing garfield...:-), was interesting...
